lol, yeah it does sound medicinal...so probably goes better with coffee than duck oil ;)
I suspect it may be preferable to that old staple - cod liver oil. Ugh!

I'm going to go into nerd mode now - balistol really is amazing stuff. Though I can't comment on what it tastes like haha ;) but its fab as a metal lubricant.
Blimey...time I went to bed :p

Who would have thought that an old rusted chain could be so instructive? We are becoming lubricant experts. I've learned a few facts, the first one being that it doesn't taste so good. Oh the power of group thinking! But then, it is not the plane, it's the pilot. Lead the way Sandra, I obviously got to go to sleep too. :-D

A wise bald man once said that some people can find the answer to the riddle of the universe on the common wrapping of bazooka chewing gum. (Lex Luthor in the first Superman movie) and his henchman Otto just couldn't figure it out. The answer is not on the wrapping but in the way we look at it.

That old rusted chain and its further debate over the cure of its flakiness, tested on a human being, no less (yuck!) with mineral and/or organic oil is quite revealing on the personality of its participants.

One has found two nice companions willing to bring their own experience and wits in the matter.Even if the the scientific results are yet to be corroborated, testing of the various brews remaining to be done ( WD-40. Balistol, Cod oil or Duck oil in either tea or coffee), it gives a whole new meaning to "Kids, don't try this at home". At this point what can be said is that the participants are enjoying each other's company and that's the secret of the old rusted chain.

This is a great post which brightens our day as I am eagerly waiting for its replies. If Xea's answers are right to the point with a generous sense of humor, Sandra brings a spicy quality and expertise to it that no one can deny. As for myself, I am lucky to be part of it.

So an old rusted chain becomes more than a post, it is a place that brings happiness. The secret of the chewing gum wrapper has been revealed.

I suppose it's because the Fibro has robbed me of many things and Balistol has been an enabler on more than one occasion :) helping me fix or open things.
Thanks guys, I had no idea that I was an expert on, ahem, lubricant :)

Yeah. We are talking silly for the sheer enjoyment of it. Sandra is no more a lubricant expert than I am a WD-40 drinker. As she says, it is a great enabler to fix or open things which is the real purpose of Balistol. So what she has is real knowledge whereas I have fantasies of putting it into coffee. Sandra is a sweet soul that only plays along with us, I being the instigator of such an incoherent topic. We appreciate her sense of humor and the pleasure of her company.

Octopedes of a sucker squish together is the perfect example of our shared silliness that is guaranteed to bring us a smile.

We meet wonderful people on the net, these two are amongst the best.

Coming back here (to better follow the latest lubricant related conversational development) I took another longer look at the photo.
It's truly wonderful.
I love the light and the time to study the way the metal is effected by time...
